Here at Notch, we have a wide range of volunteering opportunities both ongoing and short term.

If you’re interested in becoming an integral part of the Notch team, download an expression of interest form below. This can be emailed through to: admin@notch.org.au or returned in person during our office open hours.

Notch requires a blue card for all volunteers but can assist with the application.

Neighbourhood Centre Services
Notch is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming space for connection and community wellbeing. Thanks to our volunteers, the “Notch Op Shop” provides fashions and homewares saving you many dollars.
Venue Hire
Whether you are looking to host a business meeting, community group get together or large event, Notch can help find the space that's right for you. All venue hire is managed through our online booking system.
Volunteering
Join our ever-evolving neighbourhood centre volunteer team and help us in supporting our local community and the Townsville Region. Volunteering your time is a great way to give back to your local community.
Playgroup
Notch offers the provision of customised weekly free to attend playgroup sessions throughout the Northern Beaches of Townsville with a focus on both parental and child support, connection and community engagement.
Community Garden
Notch has a vibrant established Community Garden located on site as we cultivate/harvest fresh food for the community. Food produced will go into our community food programs that support locals with the cost of living.
Community Support Programs
An unexpected crisis or life event, need support with paying a bill then Notch has an Emergency Relief funded program. Food Programs provide support to those experiencing food insecurity to combat the cost of living.
Social Isolation & Loneliness Project
Our "Place to Belong" Program tackles social isolation and loneliness in community by fostering connection though social opportunities thanks to our events, social groups and social prescribing service. Free to participate and open to all we'd love to connect with more of the Townsville community who would benefit from our program.
Disaster Servicing
Based on our experiences of the 2019 and 2025 Townsville floods, the covid pandemic and various cyclone events we have now set up Notch as a Disaster Recovery Hub for the Northern Beaches focusing on disaster preparedness, response and resilience.

In Townsville’s Northern Beaches, the local neighbourhood centre is the point of connection that binds the community together whilst promoting a real sense of community spirit.
