If you have an unexpected crisis or life event or need support with paying a bill Notch has an Emergency Relief funded program if you are experiencing financial hardship.

Emergency Relief Program.

Emergency Relief: Crisis support is available to locals by appointment only from 9:30am-1.30pm Mon, Tues, Wed and Fri or 3pm-6pm Thurs. Please bring along ID and proof of address. Call 47516511 to make an appointment.

There is a form to fill out and staff will sit down and have a chat to determine how best to support you during times of crisis.

Assistance available is customised to each client and may include: a food hamper, frozen meals, information & referral to services, connection to in-house programs, free clothing via our op shop, vouchers or financial support.

Community Food Programs.

Community Food Programs provide support to those experiencing food insecurity and promotes local food rescue to combat the cost of living. Notch partners with SecondBite to enhance food support available at the centre.

Come on down and help yourself to the surplus bread & food donations supplied by local supermarkets. Ozharvest also rescues food from local supermarkets and delivers to NOTCH for distribution via our community food programs.

Fareshare provides frozen meals to help supplement our food hampers.

Community Food Table: Locals helping locals, excess fruit and veggies from local donors and inputs/donations from a variety of sources. Available to anyone, anytime the centre is open there are no forms to complete to access food from the table. All distributed free at Notch to help those doing in tough in our community.

Playgroup

Notch offers the provision of customised weekly free to attend playgroup sessions throughout the Northern Beaches of Townsville with a focus on both parental and child support, connection and community engagement.

Community Garden

Notch has a vibrant established Community Garden located on site as we cultivate/harvest fresh food for the community. Food produced will go into our community food programs that support locals with the cost of living.

Social Isolation & Loneliness Project

Our "Place to Belong" Program tackles social isolation and loneliness in community by fostering connection though social opportunities thanks to our events, social groups and social prescribing service. Free to participate and open to all we'd love to connect with more of the Townsville community who would benefit from our program.

Disaster Servicing

Based on our experiences of the 2019 and 2025 Townsville floods, the covid pandemic and various cyclone events we have now set up Notch as a Disaster Recovery Hub for the Northern Beaches focusing on disaster preparedness, response and resilience.
