Here at Notch, our Social Inclusion Team have been busy tackling the impacts of isolation and loneliness, while fostering a sense of belonging and connection for our community.

Offering a diverse range of free social events, social groups and a social prescribing service, A Place to Belong has created positive change in the lives of our participants:

Social Prescribing

SOCIAL PRESCRIBING REFERRAL FORM - REFER NOW

Here at North Townsville Community Hub (NOTCH), our grant-funded program, A Place to Belong, addresses social isolation and loneliness in community via a fully-funded program offering social events, various activities and client-centred case management for clients at no cost to participants. This form is confidential and the client being referred must agree that the details included on this referral form are accurate.

Social Interest Groups

Enjoy a catch up with new friends, learn a craft, or gain gardening tips while supporting our community food table while connecting with like minds! Explore our diverse range of special interest groups, developed in response to community feedback.

Social Events

Enjoy meeting new people at our monthly social events and coffee chats. Our monthly social events offer a range of event experiences – Paint n Sip, Ladies High Tea, Men’s Long Lunch, Beach Picnic, Magnetic Island trip – all while supporting local businesses here in Townsville.

Through a range of social events, special interest groups and working one-on-one with our social prescribing clients, we have supported locals just like you to benefit from social connection; forging stronger bonds in community.

Neighbourhood Centre Services

Join our ever-evolving neighbourhood centre volunteer team and help us in supporting our local community and the Townsville Region. Volunteering your time is a great way to give back to your local community.

Playgroup

Notch offers the provision of customised weekly free to attend playgroup sessions throughout the Northern Beaches of Townsville with a focus on both parental and child support, connection and community engagement.

Community Garden

Notch has a vibrant established Community Garden located on site as we cultivate/harvest fresh food for the community. Food produced will go into our community food programs that support locals with the cost of living.

Community Support Programs

An unexpected crisis or life event, need support with paying a bill then Notch has an Emergency Relief funded program. Food Programs provide support to those experiencing food insecurity to combat the cost of living.

Social Isolation & Loneliness Project

Our "Place to Belong" Program tackles social isolation and loneliness in community by fostering connection though social opportunities thanks to our events, social groups and social prescribing service. Free to participate and open to all we'd love to connect with more of the Townsville community who would benefit from our program.

Disaster Servicing

Based on our experiences of the 2019 and 2025 Townsville floods, the covid pandemic and various cyclone events we have now set up Notch as a Disaster Recovery Hub for the Northern Beaches focusing on disaster preparedness, response and resilience.
