The community garden is a place where the food is grown by community, for the community and distributed via our community food table, directly addressing food security while bringing neighbours together. Beyond providing food, our garden club that tends to the garden, creates opportunities for connection. Together, we are designing not only a green space but a space where people connect with nature and each other. Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue growing our garden and continue our commitment to supporting the community.
Our NOTCH Community Garden was created to promote healthy food behaviours and reduce social isolation among a number of target groups in the Northern Beaches area, including seniors, people with a disability, low-income earners and those who are new to our area.
The volunteers offer their knowledge, expertise, skill and time to take care of the hands-on components while NOTCH assists with the associated paperwork and finances.
The garden is located in the Notch precinct, and its produce is readily available to our Northern Beach’s communities.
NOTCH acknowledges the Queensland and Australian Governments for their ongoing funding under various grant arrangements.
Notch is a registered charity under the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profit Commission.
We thank our local partners, our generous community donors and our funding bodies for their ongoing support of our neighbourhood centre work.
